SUBJ: 2015 DEKALB COUNTY ANNUAL NOTICE OF PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS -- SHOULD I APPEAL?
INVITATION TO ATTEND CIVIC ASSOCIATION SPECIAL INFORMATIONAL MEETING AND FORUM
ON TUESDAY, JUNE 30TH, AT 7:30 PM AT THE LEAFMORE CLUB CLUBHOUSE
On June 2, 2015, most Leafmore-Creek Park Hills ("L-CPH") property owners received their 2015 Annual Notice of Property Assessment from the DeKalb County Property Appraisal Department. Many of these assessments reflect a significant increase in value from 2014 to 2015, which, ultimately, even with a proposed, but not-yet-enacted, millage reduction for non-school-related County Government operations, will result in many of our residents paying more -- in many cases much more -- property tax later this year.
Several L-CPH property owners have voiced concerns over the increase in 2015 value and are considering filing an appeal to the DeKalb County Board of Equalization ("BOE") by the July 13, 2015 deadline.
