Embrace Our Green Space Race

The 5^th Annual Embrace Our Green Space Race (EOGSR) to support 4 local parks Kittredge, Mary Scott, Frazier-Rowe and Clyde Shepherd is Saturday, March 28th.  We operate out of the parking lot at Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Oak Grove Road and the start/finish line is the same for everyone.  This event is sponsored by the Civic Association Network (CAN).

The event is Saturday, March 28 with 4 non-competitive races: 12 mile hilly bike ride with police escorts at intersections, 10K run and skate, 5K run/walk, and 2K walk for seniors and kids.  You can register through the EOGSR website at www.embraceourgreenspacerace.org with a link to our event on the Active site, or sign up directly at www.active.com.  The price is for $20 for adults ($10 for kids 12 and under) and all online registrants will receive the race bandana.  You can also pay $25 for walk-up registration the day of the event beginning at 9AM, but no guarantee of getting a bandana with our iconic ‘smiling tree’ logo.  The cyclists will go off promptly at 10AM, followed closely by the 10k, then 5K, then 2K.  All participants should be finished by 11:30. 

There will be great post race snacks provided by area restaurants: Sprig, Napoleon’s, The Grove, Caroline’s Cupcakes and the Oak Grove Meat Market.
